I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

If water is still leaking, turn off the water at the nearest service valve and then at the mains valve outside. If you can’t find the main shutoff valve or a tap to the appliance, then turn on the cold faucets inside and out to depressurise the pipework and minimise the leak.

Once that’s done, give our team a call, whatever the day or time is. We will be there rapidly to fix the leak.

While waiting for our emergency plumber to arrive, clear away any significant items, clean up any water, and position a container to catch any drips. You should also turn off the hot water heating if the main water is turned off.

Help, I don’t know where the main water shutoff valve is!

You may have been shown it as a stopcock, isolating valve or toby. This valve is normally located on the boundary near the road, usually under a blue or black plastic cover.
